Small Group Ministry at Immanuel

Small groups present a special opportunity to grow in faith, while at the same time develop special connections and friendships with other group members. Small groups use common interests to select bible studies, devotions, and activities that enable the participants to nurture their personal relationship with Jesus in their everyday life. The small group setting provides a comfortable environment for lively discussion, learning, reflection, and prayer.

Small groups at Immanuel are "organic" and form, grow, or dissolve based on the interests and needs of the participants. Groups are not organized or moderated by anyone other than the members of the group. As such, they can be an amazing part of your faith journey.

ChristCare Small Group

Currently, the following small groups are part of this important ministry:

  • ChristCare Quilters - First and third Mondays, 9:30 AM, in the Fellowship Hall.  The Quilters make quilts to donate to the Lord's Pantry (in San Jose), missions (Columbia).  Some are also made available at the annual Quilt Faire.
  • TGIF - formerly called the "Parents with Teenagers" group, the group was renamed when the teenagers became adults. Because the group meets every other Friday evening, it was renamed to "TGIF". Bible studies are decided collectively and have included studies of the Bible itself, DVD/book - based studies such as "The Jesus I Never Knew" by Philip Yancey, and studies of relevant Christian books. The group meets at members' homes.
  • Women's breakfast - Short devotion and then breakfast and fellowship.
  • Men's breakfast - 1st Saturday of each month, 8-9:30 a.m. at Effie's in Campbell. Discussion that revolves around the Gospel reading for the following Sunday.
  • Yokefellows - Thursdays at 6:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
