God's River of Life 2012
Are you unfamiliar with Bible and wonder if you may be missing something?
- Have you been intrigued by some Biblical stories and are curious to learn more?
- Are you committed to the Christian faith but feel like you need a more solid grounding in the Bible?
- Have you “been there and done that” with other studies, but deep in your heart need to be refreshed by the Word of God?
- Is your life missing adventure? Are you ready for a new journey into God’s love and desire for you?
- Does companionship and communion with others seeking to know more about the Bible sound appealing to you?
God our Creator, present at the beginning, is the first One introduced in the Bible. In the opening chapters we find a river flowing out of Eden, in the Garden of Paradise. In the center of the Bible, God promises to be with us when we pass through the rivers. And at the close of the Bible, St. John sees a vision of the river of the water of life, coming from the throne of God.
Throughout the year, we will journey together down God’s River of Life and cruise through God’s Word from beginning to end, meeting different people along the way, encountering different events, and experiencing firsthand the treasure of God’s Word. We will gain new perspectives, learn more about God’s interaction with His people throughout the generations, and grow in our faith in God’s presence and faithfulness to us in our lives today.
Sunday Mornings: Each Sunday morning we will stop at a different port along God’s River of Life. The Sunday sermon will focus on the theme of the day, and in our Adult Sunday School we will get off the ship and explore that day’s port in more detail.
Midweek Bible Studies: There are eight different opportunities to join with others during the week in a small group (8-12 people) experience. We will stop at another port along God’s River of Life and explore it together in Bible reading and discussion, all in a caring and supportive environment. Get this week's small group study here.
Daily Devotions (Monday – Friday) will be posted on the church website and will be made available for those who would like a hard copy. These will be “sights seen from the ship,” as we cruise from port to port. Get this week's daily devotions here.
A Reading Guide is available for those who miss a port and would like to learn more about it in their own study.
Feel free to join us at any time this year on our journey down God’s River of Life. Each port will be unique, but at every one we will consistently meet our faithful God, who will be present with us, show us His will and guide us along our life’s journey. Just wait till you see what’s around the next bend!
