Dr. Craig R. Koester is professor of New Testament at Luther Seminary where he has taught since 1986. His most recent book is The Word of Life: A Theology of John’s Gospel (Eerdmans 2008). He also authored Symbolism in the Fourth Gospel (2nd ed. Fortress Press, 2003), Revelation and the End of All Things (Eerdmans 2001), and a major commentary on the Epistle to the Hebrews (Doubleday 2001). Dr. Koester is an ordained pastor in the ELCA. In his teaching he helps people discover the vitality of the Biblical message. When studying the Biblical texts, he also weaves in imagery and music to help people engage with the Scripture as a living Word.
In this series we will focus on the seven 'I Am' sayings of Jesus in the Gospel of John, considering how these vivid images disclose to us who Jesus is and what it means to follow him.

The work of the Lutheran Bible Institute California:
The Lutheran Bible Institute California is a community of students,
faculty, congregations, pastors and laity who seek the person and will of
the living God in and through the written Word.
Our purpose is to educate the people of the congregation in the Word
and the ministry into which He has called them. We are called to "equip
the saints" for the building up of the kingdom of God -- the church, the
called-out people.
Northern California classes are for congregants, pastors, associates,
financial officers, youth directors, education directors, and for anyone
seeking personal enrichment in their faith life.
