Dr. Harry Wendt is a Bible scholar, author, and dynamic speaker known around the world for his passion and plain-speaking approach to promoting biblical literacy and servant-discipleship. During his many years as a parish pastor in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, Dr. Wendt developed extensive graphics-based teaching tools designed to make the Bible come alive in a clear, memorable, and life-transforming way. These tools became the foundation for Crossways International’s courses and workshops.
Dr. Wendt has conducted seminars in over 30 countries, where local preachers and teachers find the graphics can be easily adapted for use with different languages and cultures — even among people who cannot read. The written materials have been translated into more than 50 languages, and are used in over 80 countries — from Russia to Indonesia, from Ghana to Bangladesh, and the list continues to grow.
Dr. Wendt established the Crossways program in the United States in 1979, incorporating Bible study methods he had developed and field-tested during his 24 years of parish work. Dr. Wendt has worked in over 30 countries, teaching pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders to use Crossways International’s materials.

The work of the Lutheran Bible Institute California:
The Lutheran Bible Institute California is a community of students,
faculty, congregations, pastors and laity who seek the person and will of
the living God in and through the written Word.
Our purpose is to educate the people of the congregation in the Word
and the ministry into which He has called them. We are called to "equip
the saints" for the building up of the kingdom of God -- the church, the
called-out people.
Northern California classes are for congregants, pastors, associates,
financial officers, youth directors, education directors, and for anyone
seeking personal enrichment in their faith life.
